Complete Lahti results are posted on mastershistory.org
Since the official Lahti results site can vanish at any time, I’ve collated the day-by-day text files, throws pentathlon results and marathon team results into a single PDF — 814 pages long. See it here. I made it searchable, so you can go straight to the name or event you’re looking for. Also, I forgot to mention earlier that every USA relay team that ran Saturday medaled. I haven’t made much of the medals table, which shows us in third behind Finland and Germany, because it’s a bogus comparison. It measures proximity to Lahti more than performance. Team USA had about 220 members, compared with close to 450 for Germany and over 1,300 for the host country. So who’d you expect would win the most medals? The marathon was heavily weighted toward Finland.
But just for yucks, here’s the final medal standings at Lahti:

I can’t open the page…
AFTER looking at the finnals times I was very upset to see some of the winning times but allso the times from usa runners, there was better times run at the nationals, this is because we dont send the best masters runners we have mostly because of m-o-n-e-y or injury we should have some kind of help with airfares, hotel, something we work very hard to get at the masters levell I know I do and cant wait for kamloops ,hope other runner that was at oshkosh will be therre, not all but mostly the 50yr masters we as a team (USA) CAN DO better.Im upset cause the winning time in the M50 was not that fast and a healthey me would have done better, maybe next time .
Looked into flying from East Coast to Kamloops…$1200 airfare…looked into trains from Vancouver..they run every other day and take forever. Why can’t meets be within an hour or two of a major city?
Besides money, there is the TIME off work/family factor too.
You can fly into Seattle and drive to Kamloops. The drive is about 6-7 hours. Family, money, time and injuries are always factors.
You can fly into Vancouver and drive – a very scenic route over the Coquhalla freeway to a community that prides itself on welcoming sports events – in 3 1/2 hours.
Flights into Seattle from the Midwest are running around 300.00 plus another 400.00 dollars for a rent a car. If I fly into Kamloops tickets are running around 1000.00. Plus 300.00 if I want to get a car. I hated not having a car in Lahti. Flights into Vancouver are around 600.00 for me, but the rent a cars are around 1000. so that more expensive than flying into Kamloops. I hope to find a couple of people to fly into Seattle and share the ride.
CAN some one post on this site airfares from east, midwest and south to give us some prices and airlines going to kamloops, teaming up in hotels, will help prices drop
Australian team of 105 makes 91 medals look very good.
I live in the Vancouver area.
As mentioned, the drive from Vancouver to Kamloops is a very easy (even in winter) 3-1/2 hours. Cheaper car rentals are available in Vancouver, too. Bus service from Vancouver to Kamloops is avialable and cheap.
Alternatives for Getting to Kamloops from the US are
-Fly to Seattle (as previously mentioned)and rent a car there or take a shuttle bus from the Seattle Airport and rent a car there or catch another bus there
-Fly to Spokane and arrange ground transportation from there to Kamloops, about 4-1/2 hour away on good roads.
As far as motels in Kamloops, there will be many available at reasonable prices ($70-90CND/night). There motels that are registered with the Games Committee are more expensive (mainly because they are registered with the Games Committee).
My track club in Vancouver will be compiling information on transportation to and lodgings in Kamloops for the games. Anyone is welcome to contact me by email at hitech@uniserve.com for that information in the coming months.
Hope to see many of you in Kamloops,
Grant Lamothe
I forget to mention in the previous post, that Abbotsford, BC has a big airport with many flights available from the USA, is only 3 hours from Kamloops by good roads, and has competitive car rentals, as well as bus service to Kamloops.

Thanks Grant for the info. I like how you keep mentioning the “good roads”…which means there are some bad roads in the area
