'T.R.A.C.K. Live!' determined to soldier on -- in secrecy
The masters track reality TV show is game on -- for now. Despite rumors of "T.R.A.C.K. Dead!" a recent email communication from producer Julia Dudley to entrants suggests that Phase 2, which includes Olympian coaches helping masters athletes train for the next meet, will take place in July. But Julia signs off with this dyspeptic note: "Although some of you may be curious as to the many happenings of the show, please do not ask the contestants or coaches who were there because they are under a confidentiality agreement. This prevents said false rumors or information that circulated through blogs the first time around."
Well, since Julia never responded to my queries, it's hard to determine the truthiness of my earlier blog entries. Whatever.
Here's the note she sent to participants:
Dear Contestant Athletes, Greetings! We are happy to say that we got through level one of T.R.A.C.K. Live! this past June, which started off a little bumpy but ended up with the best of expectations! We just shipped off the last of our contestant athletes who are happily on their way home! Because this is the first season of a show like this, we have learned many lessons on the way, and have ironed out issues as we went along. We are currently preparing for phase two for the Olympic and Collegiate level coaching of T.R.A.C.K. Live! in July.In regards to phase two of T.R.A.C.K. Live!, please know that we will be sending you a confidentiality agreement via mail to be signed and faxed or mailed back to us before we can discuss any travel arrangements with contestants.
If you are not able to attend phase two, then we ask that you email us back letting us know, so that we can also inform the T.R.A.C.K. Live! coaching staff.
Please email your response to: tmckinney@annmariepro.com (Please note that if this agreement is not received, then we cannot diverge any other information to you about the show.) Please note for those of you wanting to attend phase two, there must be a commitment of at least a week to work on some of the community and team challenges. We have been able to work around some of the athletes schedules based on their attendance of five days or more.
If you know that it is impossible for you, then we ask that you wait for season two. Please do not send your comments or responses to this email.
All travel comments send to tmckinney@annmariepro.com
Although some of you may be curious as to the many happenings of the show, please do not ask the contestants or coaches who were there because they are under a confidentiality agreement. This prevents said false rumors or information that circulated through blogs the first time around. We appreciate your patience! Sincerely, Julia

If they don't want rumors to spread, it's probably a good idea not to diverge information.
