Are expensive-I was wondering if anyone has tried to get by using an indoor weight at least to train outdoors-if they get cold will they crack? I don't really like laying out 3-4 hundred dollars for an event I do once in a while.

I think an indoor weight will crack if used out in the cold. They crack pretty easily even when used indoors.

If you're looking for inexpensive outdoor weights, check here:

I've got a 25# outdoor weight from them, and it's nice.
