I don't live in Atlanta, but today, the internet allows the next best thing. Correspondence with a knowledgable bloke that has some very practical ways to help you with the individual events AND with the decathlon itself.

Check out my website and my blog. You will find there is a pretty good chance I Know what I am talking about. Would be willing to work with you online.

I have the same issue in the San Diego area. I have no problem with access to a track, and hence the long jump pit, usually the high jump pit, and obviously the throws, but hurdles are hit or miss, and pole vaulting is pretty much a no go, which makes it difficult to practice a highly technical event which I have no familiarity with.
