Coaching has been hard on the body. Today, I got in 5.9 miles on the Bike before the rain started. Did get some Chest work done while lifting with the Boys after practice. Hope to force myself to get back to it this week. Weight has been up a few pounds as I've been eating anything I wanted....not good. Spent all the effort to lose the weight....can't just let it back on so easy....after all....buying new pants was fun....still have to fit into them...lol.

Two days in a row....yeah!!! Put in 9.2 miles on the Bike in a very steady effort. Legs were a bit tired toward the end. Haven't been working out all that much and the effort I used today showed towards the end of the workout. Need a few days of activity to get back what I left slip away. Will try to make tomorrow a good workout day, again.

Three days in a row. Went to the gym for a Strength Workout. Warmed up with Lat Pulls 10x90, Bench Press 10x135, Leg Press 10x215. Then a Circuit for 5 Rounds of Lat Pulls 5x135, Bench Press 8x185, Leg Press 12x255, Core AB Crunches x15. Total time today was 7:31. Felt a lot stronger than I thought I would having not lifted for a couple of weeks and the overall time was very good. very tired at the end. Will probably be sore tomorrow....lol. Hope to make it 4 in a row tomorrow....see how I feel.

Yesterday I played Golf after practice....pretty tired from that so no workout. Today I went to the Gym and did the following:
Bench Press 10x135, Lat Pulls 10x90, Leg Press 10x215 as a warm up.
Bench Press 12, 11x195 with 1 minute rest.
Lat Pulls 12, 9x135 with 1 minute rest.
Leg Press 3x12x275 with 1 minute rest.
Core ABs Machine 3x12x90 with 30 seconds rest.
All lifts were controlled...1 up and 2 down. Tough workout. Can't seem to get past the second set on the Bench and Lats. Want to get 2 sets of 12 and then move up in weight. Legs and Core ABs were 3 sets. Can probably go higher on the Legs....pushing it on the Core Abs. High intensity workout. Will try to get a ride in tomorrow.

The heat at practice has been just killing me this week.....draining my energy. Played a couple of rounds of golf and that's been hot and tiring. Tonight I forced myself to the gym for a high intensity workout.
Bench 10x135, Lats 10x90, Leg Press 10x215 as a warm up. Then 3 circuits of 15 reps on the Bench at 180, Lats at 120, and Leg Press at 245. Bench and Lats got very hard on the last sets and Legs could have been heavier but at least I got some work done. Tomorrow I will try for an easy ride on the Bike for 7-8 miles just to get the legs going again.

Today I got in 9.2 miles on the Bike. Want to ease back into riding and lifting to get my fitness going again. Weight has been up, but not as much as I thought due to eating anything and everything. Lots of candy around the house.....have to walk away from it.....lol. Will try to make it three days in a row tomorrow with a lift. See how I feel.

Heat has been oppressive the last couple of days. After Football Practice, I'm dead. Today I went to the gym and did the following:
Bench 10x135, Lat Pulls 10x90, Leg Press 10x215 as a warm up. The 4 rounds of Bench Press 10x185, Lat Pulls 10x120, Leg Press 20x245, Core ABs Crunches 20 with 1 minute rest, Good intensity and effort. Could have gone heavier on the Bench, Lats were about right , and Leg Press could have been heavier. ABs were good....maybe could have gone higher also. Good work today. Tomorrow and Sunday are days off from Football......so I hope to get a couple of rides in to get some cardio going.

OK. Enough of the playing around......got to get back to training. Forced myself onto the Bike this morning for an easy 7.5 miles ride. Easy tempo.......body was revolting.....lol. Felt hard and not easy. I've ridden 10 times in the last 8 weeks.....not good. Have kept up the strength training , but that's not been enough. Will try to get a strength workout in after Football Practice tonight. Will post if I do.

Went to the gym tonight and did the following:
Bench 10x135, Lat Pulls 10x90 as a warm up. Then a Mini Circuit of Bench Press at 185 and Lat Pulls at 120 for 15, 12, 10, and 8 reps.....no rest. Finished in 5:23. The last two sets on the Bench were 6and 4, then 6 and 2. Lats were 8 and 2, then 5 , 2 and 1. Very hard at the end. Finished with some Core AB work....just Crunches, but got some work done. Overall, a very good day. Tomorrow I will attempt to get another easy ride in the morning to try and get the body working again. I can ride before practice and I seem to be OK....after practice, I'm toast.

Got my elbow drained yesterday....bursitis. Took the day as rest. Today I went to the gym and did the following:
12 minutes on the Spin Bike for 3.1 miles, 12 minutes on the Elliptical, and 12 minutes on the Treadmill. Tried jogging a bit and the knee was very tender. Finished by walking. Overall, a good cardio day. tomorrow is golf and a game later. Will try for a ride on Saturday.

Calves were so sore after my mixed cardio workout, I really didn't do anything but rest for the last couple of days. Calves would cramp for no reason. Really sore.

Wanted to start riding again today but the weather got in the way. Even when I went to the gym tonight to hit the Spin Bike.....that was packed....so I opted for my stand by Cardio Lift:
Bench 10x135, Lats 10x90, Leg Press 10x215 as a warm up. Then Five Circuits of Lat Pulls 5x135. Bench 8x185, Leg Press 12x155, and Core Abs 15 Crunches @ 80#. Total time was 8:07. Not a bad time but have done better. Will try for a ride tomorrow before practice.

Two days in a row. Got an 8 miles ride on the Bike this morning. Felt pretty good but legs were tired till the end. Tried to push the last mile and found that I was really feeling it. Wind and legs weren't there. Got to get back to normal training and see if I can get back to where I was before my self imposed layoff. Weight has been pretty good....holding at 220. Will try to lose a few more pounds and see how that effects my training.

Make it Three days in a row. Did 8.8 miles on the Bike this morning. Steady ride. Calves felt much better today. Stiffness seems to be gone. Body is trying to get back. Felt much easier today then yesterday. Rhythm is coming back and weight is below 220 this morning. If I can find time I will try for a light lift tonight.....see how it goes.

Four days in a row. Went to the gym tonight and did the following:
Bench Press 10x135 and 8x185, Lat Pulls 10x90 and 8x135, Leg Press 10x215 and 8x275.
The a 5 rep Circuit of Bench at 225, Lats at 150, Leg Press at 355 with 1 minute rest between Circuits. Wanted to see if my strength was still there. Felt pretty good. Maybe I could have done another round but I stopped. Legs could have been heavier but the Bench and Lats were just about right. Good workout. I'm feeling it as I type....lol. Tomorrow is a golf day and then a game....so Saturday I will try to get back to the Bike for some Cardio. Weight was steady this AM at 219.0. That's good....although I ate like crap today....see where I am tomorrow.

When I don't workout, I feel lazy till I do workout......then I feel like going on and on and on. Today I went to the gym and did the following:

Bench 10x135, Lats 10x90, Leg Press 10x215 as a warm up. The 6 Rounds on the 2 minute mark of 8 reps for Bench x 185, Lats x 120, Leg Press x 275. Felt like I could have done more, but cut it of at 6 Rounds. I am feeling it now though. Could have gone heavier or done 10 reps, but overall, it was a good workout. See what tomorrow brings.
