Last few days have been rest except for some decent rounds of golf. Tonight I went to the gym and did the following:

Bench Press 4x25x140 on the 2 minute mark. Last set was 15, 5, and 5. Very hard.
Machine Flys 4x10x85 on the minute.
DB Incline Press 4x8x40 on the minute. Last set was a struggle.
Tri Push Downs 3x15x80 on the minute. Last set was again difficult.

Overall, a very intense workout in a short amount of time. Had the HR up and breathing was heavy. Good day in the gym.

This morning was an easy 8 miles on the Bike. Just enough to get a sweat going and get some cardio done. Tonight I went to the gym and did the following:

Lat Pulls 4x25x95 on the 2 minute mark. Last set was 10, 5, 5, 5. Very tough.
Seated Rows 4x10x120 on the minute.
Incline DB Rows 4x8x30s
DB Curls 10x20s Arms were toast at this point.

Good day of work. Now I will try to string a few more days together and try to maintain some fitness.

This morning was an easy 8.8 miles on the Bike. Just getting a little cardio done. Have to try and get some more miles in to build the body back up. With the summer heat and coaching I've really backed away from cardio. Have to get back and get weight under control so I can move forward.

Today I went to the gym for a Leg Workout and did the following:

Leg Press 4x25x235 on the 2 minute mark. Weight could have been heavier. Last set was still too easy for me.
Machine Deadlifts 4x10x220 on the minute. Good work after the Leg Presses.

Overall, a good day. Hammies were a bit fatigued after the workout.

Last few days have been rest and Golf....not playing bad right now. But back to work today. Went to the Gym and did the following:

Bench Press 5x20x150 on the 2 minute mark. Last set was Very Difficult.
Machine Flys 4x10x90 on the minute.
Incline DB Press 4x8x40s
Tri Press Downs 4x15x70

Good amount of work done today. Short rests allowed for some type of cardio. Have been slacking the Bike lately, will pick that up again after football season. We are in the State Playoffs and it's win or go home, so we will see how long it is till I get back to serious training again.

Today was some Golf in the afternoon after a morning practice and a lift tonight.

Lat Pulls 5x20x105 on the 2 minute mark. Last 2 sets were 15&5, and 10,5,5. Tough.
Seated Cable Rows 4x12x120 on the minute.
DB Curls 4x10x20s

Quick work but very tiring. Will try for a morning ride just to get some cardio done.

Another 5k last weekend. Ran it in 23:44. Almost a minute faster than my last 5k.

Rest, except for some decent golf.....for me. Went to the gym today and did a short Legs Workout.

Leg Press 5x20x255 on the 2 minute mark. Again, this seemed too easy. Must be stronger than I'm giving myself credit for. Missed my normal Thursday workout as my back was a bit sore. Feels better today. Will get back on schedule and see how I progress this week.

Thanks. I seem to be in a perpetual state of physical therapy but I continue to improve. As long as there's improvement, I will continue to hope for the best.

Fidel.

I know what you mean as in constant rehab. Seems like my body brakes down for no reason and I have to recoup and start again slowly. Hopefully, we can get to the point where we feel comfortable and are able to compete. Keep plugging away.

Tonight I went to the gym and did Chest and Back, abbreviated as I did both at the same time.

Bench Press 6x15x165 on the 90 second mark. Very difficult. 5th set was 10, 5. And the 6th set was 8, 3, 2, 1, 1. Very hard. Chest was destroyed.
Lat Pulls 3x15x105
Seated Rows 3x15x120

Upper body was toast after this workout. Hopefully I can get back to the Bike in the near future. Have been shirking the cardio and the weight is slowly coming back. Maybe I need more cardio and less strength work. Any thoughts out there?

Big Mo,

I've always had weight issues if I didn't do some cardio.....then you have the whole speed vs endurance questions. Plus I enjoy the work out process."..no pain, no gain type. That was what was ingrained in me from the beginning. Did I ever coach me kids that way....nope. But I will do it to myself all the time even when I see the results of less is more way of working out. Still holding at 225 but the holidays and cookis season is about to start.....lol.

Finally over a major sinus infection that turned into bronchitis. Hasn't been a fun two weeks. Yesterday, I got back on the Bike for an easy 7 plus miles in about 28 minutes. Felt pretty good afterwards. Only a few minor coughs.

Today, I hit the Bike for a steady 8 miles in about 30 minutes. Again, feeling pretty good after the ride. Heavy breathing elicits coughing......so i try to keep the intensity at an even tempo.

Will try to get a lift in tonight if I can.
