Yesterday was atotal day of rest and I feel great today. The next few days will be a little bad as we are in the throws of Tropical Storm Isaac. Kinda like up north, waiting for the major snow storm and you get 1 inch of snow because the storm missed you. We have plenty of bread, eggs, and milk....so we can make French Toast...lol. Some wind and lots of rain but so far no damages.

Today's workout was P90X Chest and Back. Did a total of 174 pushups and 105 assisted pullups. Got a pretty good pump on after that workout, then did 6 minutes of the AB WO.
Won't have a chance to get on the bike for at least two more days, so it's just P90X till I can. It will interesting to see if I can handle the Plyo workout tomorrow while I'm fresh....if the power stays on...lol.

Yesterday was a wasted day. All we did was sit around and pick at food and party with our neighbors that the storm missed us. That was a good thing.

Today I started off with P90X Plyo workout. Not too bad when you do it fresh. It is hard on the knees. I may have to modify as my right knee gets stiff after the WO. Will try to get a ride and another P90X WO in tonight to catch up and get back on track. Will let you know what I do later.

After practice I went to the gym with my wife and did Shoulders and Arms with weights. Can't remember all the sets and reps, but did a lot. Rode the recumbant bike for 2 miles and called it a night.

My weight has been inching up as I have not been watching what I eat. Started Atkins again today and we'll see how it goes. Need to get back to clean eating and get below 200 so that I can start running and take some stress off my knees. Knees were really stiff after the plyo workout this morning.

Today was suppose to be Yoga, but I opted for a bike ride of 9.5 miles in 38 minutes. It was a steady ride and I haven't been on the bike for a few days. So, it was just a training ride. When I got done I did about 3/4s of AB Ripper X. My stomach is tight, tight, and tight. Evantually I'll get the whole thing done. It's really hard and fast passed.

I plan to ride tomorrow AM and do Legs and Back in the PM, if I can handle it.

Today was a rest from P90X and just did my 4.1 miles Time Trial course. Rode it in 14:28. Was happy with the time as the wind was coming from all directions. The last 1/2 mile I tried to go hard, but with trying to push into the wind, I had nothing left. But the effort was there, just couldn't finish.
Tomorrow I will try to get a ride and do Legs and Back before I have to be to school for our game.

The last few days I have been sick with the summer cold that my wife had....as well as half the guys that I coach with. Not fun. Completely drained. Will try to workout in a day or two. Have meds as I don't want it to go into a sinus infection. Will check back in a couple of days.

Yesterday my computer was on the fritz, but here's my workout.
Machine Bench Press 10x135, 8x165, 6x180, 4x195, 3x210, 3x225, 2x8x180
Incline DB Press 3x12x40s
Wide Grip Lat Pulls 10x105 6x120, 4x135, 3x3x150, 2x8x120

Today's workout
Rode the recumbant Bike for 20 minutes at varying speeds in one minute intervals. Total of 5.1 miles.
Leg Press 4x15x225 Tabata style (10 seconds rest)
Leg Curls 8x8x80

Went with the weight room activities to give myself a reat. I think with the P90X workouts and trying to ride, I may have extended myself too much, hence my sinus infection. Got meds and I am feeling better, so I started to workout again. Need to make sure that I get proper rest in my training and avoid injury and illness.

Yesterday was an easy day as I played 9 holes of golf and then had our game, so I really didn't have time for a workout. Leaving this AM to fly North to PA and NJ to visit family and Grandson who is deploying with a Marine Amphibious Group next week. Will be back Monday AM and get back to work. Weight has been holding steady in the high 2teens. Must get that down.

Back in FL yesterday. Didn't get a workout in but did watch my eating while I was gone. So I feel good about that as my weight is 217 today.

Thought I would use the P90X workouts as strentgh and conditioning and not try to overdo the riding on those days. Also still use the weights at the gym, but again not over doing it.

Today's workout was:
Machine Bench Press 6x10x135 Tabata Style (10 seconds rest beteen sets). This was hard but I did get all 6 sets in with no breaks.
Incline DB Press 4x8x40s
Incline DB Flys 4x8x20s
Triceps Press Downs 4x8x80

Warmed up on the recumbant bike for 5 minutes and the did some running drills.
Knee Pops 2x24, Butt Kicks 2x24, A Skips 4x24. Felt pretty good after the workout.

Today's workout was a bit of everything. Biked for a total of 5.5 miles in 19:27 which was my best for how I rode the course. The 1st 4.1 was a time trial in 14:27, 3rd best time I think and then continued to ride out the last 1.4 miles. This was hard today as the wind was really strong. There wasn't much time when the wind wasn't buffeting me all over the place. Was happy with the ride. Can't wait to ride it when the wind is clam....lol.

Went to the gym and did Back.
Wide Grip Lat Pulls - 4x10x105 with 30 seconds rest
Reverse Grip Lat Pulls 4x10x90 (30 seconds) Should have used more weight.
Bi/Hammer Curls 10x25s, 10x20s

A Skips 4x24 followed by striders for 30 strides - twice.

Felt pretty good after workout. Weight was 217 this AM, happy with that. Need to ration my energy and not overload the body....too old to get hurt or sick again.

Tried a Morning workout today and rode for a total of 6.4 miles in 23:27. The 1st 5.1 miles was on a course that I haven't ridden in a while. The wind was very strong in my face for the 1st 2/3s of the ride. I kept the pressure on and when the wind was behind me I really tried to hammer it home. Fininshed in 18:03, my best time by 20 some seconds. Felt good to really take advantage of the wind for once.
Will try to lift legs this afternoon and get some more running drills in. See if my knees can hold up to the pounding.
Weigh this AM was 214. It's amazing when you eat right how the weight drops off. Need to stay on course and see where I'm at in a few more days.

Went to the gym and worked my Legs. Did the following:
Leg Press 30x225, 30x225, 25x250, 20x275, 15x300
DB RDLs 3x10x50s (total 100 lbs.)
Came home and tried some striders again, but my right knee was really stiff and sore, so I dropped them after just one.
Need to rest my legs more after I do running drills for a day. Can't come back as quickly as I used to do. That and additional weight loss should help. I don't know why I keep trying to push myself when the body won't let me. It's OK when riding the bike, but any full-weight bearing on the legs is hard.
Any thoughts out there.

Legs were sore today, so it was a 4 mile bike ride at an easy tempo. Just enough to break a sweat. See how tomorrow feels. Hope to get a good workout in tomorrow.

Took the last 2 days as rest days. Flt pretty good today and made it a bike day. Rode a total of 10 miles in 36:03. The 1st 6.5 miles was on a course that I have been riding lately and rode it in 23:17. Previous best was 23:55. Was pushing a higher gear most of the way and felt pretty strong. Didn't have much at the end, but rode strong all the way. Took a mile to catch my breath and then upped the tempo again to the finish. Today was a good training day. Got some additional accelerations in during the last 3+ miles.

Tomorrow I'm hoping to get an easy ride in the morning and a lift in the afternoon.

Did a morning ride of 10.5 miles. Wanted to get a training ride in and boy did I. The wind was blowing all directions it seemed and at times moved the bike while riding. 10 miles seemed like 20 today. At the end of the ride, I was gassed. Haven't been this tired after a WO in quite some time. Took a break of about 3 hours and went to the gym

Machine Bench Press and Wide Grip Lat Pulls were super setted
Bench 20x135, 15x165, 8x180 / Lat Pulls 15, 12, 8x120
DB Incline Bench 18,12x45s
Bent Rows w/ DBs 2x10x45s
Machine Flys 2x10x120
One Arm Tri Push Downs 2x15x45
Bi/Hammer Curls 16x25

Was very drained after the workout. Did a lot today. Tomorrow will be a less stressful day. Need to recover a bit.
