Played golf this morning and rode the Bike this afternoon. Rode 5.3 miles in 20:47. Trying to get the tempo down. Was an easy ride. The knee feels a little stiff but I think it's the healing process. Won't really test it for a little while. Trying to lose the weight. After the Football season was over, I ate pretty much everything and blew up to 233 in a couple of weeks from 218. In the process of losing that and getting back to normal eating again. Down to 224 this morning. The Holidays are a tuff time to lose....lol.

Down to 222 this AM so I had an ice cream treat today...lol.

Didn't ride the Bike today, just went to the gym and did the following:
Machine Bench Press 10x135, 6x8x195
Lat Pulls 10x90, 6x9x135

Had a pretty good lift today. Today was a strength and power day. Trying to vary the routine in lifting to get the best results. Tomorrow will be golf in the AM followed by a Bike ride and then try to lift Legs if my knee feels OK. If not, then Shoulders and Arms.

I am so jealous you get to play golf most mornings.

It was a beautiful day here in sunny SW FL. For me, I played well. I play Cardio Golf....that means you take so many swings that it counts as a workout....lol.

Today, I rode the Bike for 8 miles in 30:57. Just an easy ride. Still working on the tempo thing. Riding in a gear that allows for the best speeds and fast turnover. Surprised that I ride as fast as I do while doing what seems to be less work. I guess its the tempo that I'm told I need to work on. Knee felt a little stiff afterwards so I didn't lift legs. Was rushed for time and did not lift today. Will try tomorrow........after golf...lol.

I must be getting old. Everything seems to be breaking down. I have been battling alow pain in the abdomin and the doctor thinks it may well be a hernia. Played golf again today and afterwards my lower right ab is feeling a little more than tender. Have a CT Scan tomorrow to see if anything else is a problem....hope not. Didn't lift today. Will be traveling North for the Holidays and working out may be a bit tough....but will still try. Walked one mile tonight just to see how my abs feel.....no change. Seems my workout schedule may get altured more then I want it to.

Took a leasurely 9 mile ride in 36:34. It was the easiest ride I've taken in a while. Didn't want to stress the ABs to much, but then cme home and did 3x30 Pillar Bridges. The hernia feels OK for the moment. See how it feels tomorrow.

Tomorrow at O:Dark:Thirty, my wife and I are heading to PA for the Christmas Holiday. Two days in a car up and then back. I'm looking forward to that ride.....lol. Workouts will be tough to do and I will have to see how the ABs hold up, but I will try to do something.....even if it's just Push Ups and Walking on my Brother-in-laws Treadmill.

The last 10 days have been a disaster for training. Had all good intentions......but that's another story. Started to feel like I was getting something on Christmas Eve. By Wednesday, I had full blown sinus infection which then went to my chest and now have bronchitis as well. I guess my body needed rest because I haven't been this sick in years. Hope you all had a great Christmas and looking forward to a great New Year. I will post when I start to feel better.

Finally back to working out today. Played golf this AM. It was terrible but it beats working...lol.

Rode the Bike this afternoon for 7.6 miles. The 1st 5.1 miles was in 18:50. The rest was a cool down. Felt good to get some work in today. Being sick was no fun, although my weight stayed about the same throughout the holidays.

Tomorrow, I will try to get a lift in and see how I feel. The last time I worked out was 20 December......a long time ago.

Didn't ride today but went to the gym. The meds that I'm on can cause tendon problems while taking them , so I went with sets and reps and not alot of weight. Haven't worked out for a while so took it easy.

Machine Bench Press 10x135, 5x8x180
Lat Pulls 10x90, 5x8x120

Did just enough to get a little sweat going. Super setted the exercises with about 90 seconds rest between each super set.

Tried to push the tempo today on the Bike but to no avail. Rode my 4.1 TT course in 14:56. Felt like I was really pushing the tempo but was almost a full minute behind my previous best. The cold must have taken more out of me than I thought. Tomorrow I will try a ride and lift legs. Got to get back to being able to push the envelop a little. Seems that I'm workiong out OK but not improving.....any thoughts.

Didn't ride today but did go to the gym and did the following:

Warm Up w/ Butt Kicks, Knee Pops, Leg Swings, and Hip Circles.
Leg Press 20x225, 3x25x250.....wanted to get 4 sets in today at 250 but the Hernia was starting to bother me on the 3rd set...so I stopped. Took 15 seconds rest between sets with the weight in an extended held position. It was starting to get really difficult. The last set would have been a real strain.

Will see haow I feel tomorrow. Weight is still hanging around 222.

Went to the gym and used the Recumbant Bike tonight for some interval work. Increased the Resistance on the minute for 4 minutes and then started over again. Kept the tempo at 84-86 reps per minute and did 5 cycles for a total of 20 minutes. Really worked up a sweat that doesn't seem to be when riding outside. The wind resistance helps keep you cool....no such luck indoors.

Got a full Leg Workout in today.

Leg Press (1/2 Man Maker) 40x225, 30x250, 20x275, 10x300
RDLs 4x8x80

Felt pretty good after the workout. Hernia didn't bother me quite as much on the Leg Presses. Saw the surgeon today and that will get fixed on Feb. !2th.....another reason to lose more weight......all I seem to be doing is recovering and getting ready for the next thing that breaks...lol.....hope this is the last.

The last two days have been a bust for training....so I used them as Rest Days. Gained a couple of pounds and feel bad. Today I went to the gym and did the following:

Superset Bench with Lat Pulls
Machine Bench Press 10X135, 6X180, 4X190, 3X210, 2X8X225
Lat Pulls 10x90, 6x120, 4x135, 3x150, 8x165 (very hard), 8x150

Incline DB Press 15, 10 ,10 x 45s
Reverse Grip Lat Pulls 15, 10, 10 x 105

Good Upper Body Lift. Felt like I got something out of today's workout.

Legs still a bit sore from last week. Will try to work them tomorrow.

Played 9 holes of golf this morning with the wife's 9 hole league. It was fun and we played well and still talk to each other...lol. Rode the Bike this afternoon on my 4.1 mile Time Trial Course in 14:36. I rode with a strong tempo aand felt good. When I kicked it into high gear for the finish, I found that I had a couple of gears left. My tempo rides could have been much faster if I had kicked it up a gear or two through out the rides. See if I can figure it out over the next couple of rides. Legs were pretty shot at the end of the ride.....even riding in a lesser gear. Most have looked like a hampster on a treadmil....lol.
