I have been working on the basic sprint mechanics for the high school track team where I volunteer. Take a look and see what you guys think. Please add or subtract anything you see fit.
Sprint Mechanics: Keep head straight and facing down track Relax face, neck, and shoulders Square the shoulders Arms bent at 90°swinging cheek to cheek Hands relaxed do not clinch fist Maintain a forward lean of about 10° Drive knees up and extend foot with ankle in dorsiflexed position Land on midfoot or ball of foot under body
