I have been working on the basic sprint mechanics for the high school track team where I volunteer. Take a look and see what you guys think. Please add or subtract anything you see fit.

Sprint Mechanics:
Keep head straight and facing down track
Relax face, neck, and shoulders
Square the shoulders
Arms bent at 90°swinging cheek to cheek
Hands relaxed do not clinch fist
Maintain a forward lean of about 10°
Drive knees up and extend foot with ankle in dorsiflexed position
Land on midfoot or ball of foot under body

Please let me know if this type of post is helpful. I am working on a sprint start mechanics as well.

Thanks,
Tony
