9x200 w/ diagonal walk back+30 sec., went:

33, 36, 35, 34, 35, 35, 34, 35, 33. Then I rested several minutes and did 1x400 in 74, and BOY was the last 150 rrrrrrough.

All in all felt like a pretty good day for an old guy.

How old...and what events do you do? Just curious.

41, turning 42 early Sept. I was an 800m guy in high school so very long ago, but I think I'm going to focus more on the 400 at this summer's local meets. I got back into it after starting with a trainer to deal with several years of back trouble. Six months ago I'd have been lucky to get around the track once without collapsing!

Today, a 6-4-2-1 ladder in warm weather, 5min rest between. 1:57 at a good cruise, 64.5, 31, 13. Completely toast at the end. I'm noticing that when I hit aerobic threshold, it's like falling off a cliff. My lungs do not adjust quickly! I did a pretty hard 2.5 mile trail run yesterday, so I'm thinking tomorrow is a rest day. What are other folks' feelings about rest day frequency?

I typically work out every other day, sometimes with a 2-day interval in between if I'm especially sore, sometimes two days in a row if I'm feeling well. I'm no expert though.
