Okay so here's what I did. To most of you this workout will sound like chicken feed, but I haven't done speedwork in at least 10 years, so it's a start.
1 mile warmup jog
6x200 w/200 jog recoveries
splits were 47, 49, 47, 48, 48, 45
I had to start somewhere. I'll try to buiild up to 12x200 and then maybe swith to 400s.

Looks like a great start. Key is to take it slow. I learned this very quickly, even at the young age of 39. So far my injuries have only been minor, lasting no more than a few weeks (although my knees have been bothering me a lot more since I began focusing on speedwork the past couple months). Anyway, best of luck!!
