Post subject:  300m hurdles (60-64) training

Well, after some injuries and surgery I now want to get back into Masters competition by focusing on the 300 intermediates. I'd love to hear back from anyone with some training advice so I can be ready for the 2009 Nationals in FL!

LSD for thee.

That's my current advice for getting into 400 hurdles shape. At least that's my own personal strategy for preparation for M55 in June 2009.

On the advice of Rob Duncanson, I'm putting in lots of aerobic mileage on the track and treadmill -- usually 3 to 5 miles a pop. I'm not a distance runner by any stretch, but even at 10-, 11- or 12-minute-mile pace, I can feel some endurance returning. After a winter of long runs, I expect to be ready to hit the repeats.

In a recent T&FN interview, 400H star Kerron Stewart said he was training like a miler. So I guess my routine fits in with this.

Ok, ok, Ken...I'll try it....for maybe 3 months then back to working on my fast-twitch muscles with intervals and sprints since I'm a SPRINTER!!!, not a (ugh) distance runner. :)
