Hi All
I went to practice at my usual location and there is now a fence surrounding the whole field (with no gates so I assume they don't want it used)

Anyone out there know a place to practice hammer in Northern Westchester or southern Putnam cty NY?

I can't help with your specific location, but you may have to get a little creative. During the week, I've been throwing the hammer in a rarely used grass parking lot that sits at the end of a set of soccer fields. The throwing surface is an old asphalt street that dead ends into a driveway for a farm.

I've been throwing there for years, and all of the neighbors know me. I once had a cop ask me what I was doing, but that's it. I don't put any hammer holes in the soccer fields themselves, so the landscaping crew doesn't bother me either.

Yes I have done that with a discus-I have to find a place where the damage a hammer does won't be a problem for anyone-not easy in the NYC suburbs

If you are interested in throwing in Dutchess, we have 3 hammer throwers that have a couple of places to practice. E-mail me if interested (go to the masters rankings site www.mastersrankings.com and click on "contact us"). You may need to look in your junk e-mail for my reply or set your e-mail program to recognize my address.

Sure that would be great-I could do it on the weekends.
