Good morning to all master world...
I've sent a mail to Kamloops-world's organizators a month ago, asking if the track is flat (I mean: I've seen several photos in which it seems that the indoor track haven't rised curves like usual).
Here is the answer:
"Yes, the track is flat".
So, this is the first FLAT track that i ever heard in my life...

Now, probably it is just a problem of mine, but a 200 or a 400 in a indoor FLAT track is a really big problem... for feet integrity and for all the kind of injuries that could happens if you run fast in that condition...

I just want to say this thing...
Had anyone run there in order to tell me if is it possibile having good results also in that conditions?
Thank you.

P.S.: excuse me for my awful english.

The first flat track you have seen?- really - there are many flat indoor tracks. The National Masters Indoor track meet in Landover, MD was held on a flat track. Dartmouth Relays is run on a flat track, just to mention a couple off the top of my head. And of course for many masters competitors there are no indoor tracks flat or banked on which to train.
I agree that for the sprints that run a curve a banked indoor track is much better but you have to deal with what is there if you go.

Ok, probably in North America is so...
In Europe I've never seen or heard of a indoor track flat.
Just because for sprint (and also for long distances) you could have injuries... we aren't teens!
Than, an indoor competition is not a cross country race... you say I'll eventually deal with what will be there if i'll go...
but all the europeans think that they'll found a banked track.

But Rules and conditions must be equal for all the competitors, I think.
Also for whom comes from Europe.

Here you can find the IAAF rules for an Indoor Track...
10° degrees of inclination angle....

Come on you lot. The question of the Kamloops indoor track has been on the backburner for some time now. Andy is obviously right to be concerned and not only about injuries. If Kamloops is not a legitimate IAAF indoor track, how can any eventual records be allowed?

I remember running at Northern Arizona University back in the 70's.
They had the indoor meets in the field house which had a 200 meter flat track. Even racing the 800 meters was tough to handle the curves. My junior year they built the indoor dome which had a 5 laps per mile flat track which made the curves a lot easier to handle.

Flat tracks are much more common in North America than banked tracks.

If any Europeans come and are surprised by the flat track, that is their fault for failing to do any research. I know the tight corners will be difficult for many, and it is certainly something to consider before making the decision to go to the meet.

Sure....
http://www.kamloops2010masters.com/Performance_List.htm :)

The list isn't complete though. Recent entries may not be posted right away and late entries are accepted
until February 6.

The posted list is very incomplete - no US on it - most of the Europeans not on it - no doubt they are waiting until final lists of entiries are received.
for US list go to
http://preview.tinyurl.com/yztd8p3
then you have to look by each age group.
deadline for entries without late fees Jan 19 but I think they are accepting them with an additional fee until Feb 1. Hopefully the Kamloops website list will be updated soon thereafter.

There is a new list posted as of yesterday, complete with entrants and qualifying standards. I think this is probably the complete list.

Good luck in Kamloops :)
