I once got to compete in an open 35# weight throw comp with Libor Charfreitag ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libor_Charfreitag ). I threw right after him in the order. He broke 80' on all 6 attempts. I made the finals (HA!), and threw just short of 40'.

Though I did break 40' earlier in the day during the masters flight.

Reminds me of year before last when I was throwing in a small meet with about 4-5 other guys. It was a chance for me to get a few "competition throws" in before our State Games. It was a chance for these guys to get sanctioned marks in before the Beijing Olympics. In that meet I threw right after Lance Brooks, Adam Kuehl and some guy named Godina. I tried hard to just not fall down in the ring

Hard to imagine too many other sports where a you could do that!
