Today Mario Longo (1964, Naples) has set the new world record M45 in 60 meters... 6"97 (first man over 45 years under 7 seconds). The previous record was set by the american Stan Whittle in 1991 (7"02).
In the heat he has run in 7"02 too. Then in final 6"97...

3d world record listed by an Italian during the 2010.
After the 2 records on 60 M45 (Mario Longo, 7"02 and 6"97). Carla Forcellini has jumped 3,20 in Pole Vault in Ancona, writing the third world record listed by an italian in 2010.

Last night Willie Gault (49) run 7"07 at Millrose Games in NY.
Before that race, Mario Longo (45) the current holder of the record (6"97, run in Ancona several days ago) sent him this message by facebook:

Mario Longo

Translation:
My sincere good luck to Willie Gault, because he could beat the world record... so he could give me new power to run a new world record too!! In chase tonight he'll couldn't do it, I hope someone can get him this message in which I propose another possibility... but not so remote... side by side!!!
Mario Longo
