Hi All,
I am new to this and would like to get involved. I did the weights in HS and would like to compete again. I live in NJ. WHere do I go to train? Not sure how to get started. please help

If you don't mind training alone, almost any high school or middle school would be good when school was not in session (and assuming you are not tearing up their field with hammer divots). Use the meet locator, attend a meet, and see if you can't get to know some other throwers in your area. They will have all been down this road before, and can give some good advice.

There are a number of meets around your area every year. I don't know a lot about training facilities in NJ, but you might be able to find out more by contacting the New Jersey Association. Their website is http://www.usatfnj.org.

he is an enthusiastic and knowledgeable coach, running an admittedly youth-oriented, predominately female club.....

but we ALL want throwers to continue practicing and competing, so EVERYBODY can get advise, even if the club isn't exactly your own peer group....
