We in the Louisiana Masters world are wanting to be more inclusive of TX, OK, AR, and north Louisiana athletes in our meets. To that end, we would like to hear from folks in those areas and find out where in Louisiana they think would attract them the most. We know Baton Rouge is a bit out of the way for you guys, so please give us some feedback. Hey Panama, good hearing from you. Forward this poll to anyone you can think of, we're talking about an April or an August 2011 meet at one of these locations. We want to make it a good sized and quality meet, so we need participation from other states and we want to accommodate them best we can while staying in Louisiana.

See you in Lafayette on June 19th?

I would much rather have a meet at Northwestern. I have competed on mondo surfaces and they are really nice. Not only that Northwestern is a little easier for people coming from the Dallas area, which may bring more competition and make a better meet.

Don't worry, we usually have more paper entries than online.

I am new to this forum and would like yo say "howdy" to all.
For me the best location is Lake Charles. It's not too far from Houston, Beaumont, Baton Rouge, Shreveport, or even New Orleans. I can understand the folks up north liking someplace a little closer though.

I live close to Shreveport, but I don't think you would get many masters to show up for a meet there. Masters competitors are few and far between in East TX, North LA and AR. I would love to see more masters in this area, but I'm not holding my breath on that. Maybe NW State would draw from S LA and our area. How do your meets draw in South LA?

Lucky Lindy,

We've had pretty good turnout at our LSU and Southern University meets over the last couple of years, 80-90 entrants in the SW Regionals in 2008-9. We are going to make a push for open divisions as well to bring in some of the off-season college kids.
