Post subject:  Indoor Meets

I live in Florida and we only have one indoor facility in the state. I would like to run in about 4 indoor meets this year. Not many are posted yet but I would like to get a jump on travel planning. Does anyone have any recommendations of some good indoor meets for masters that are not yet posted? Location doesn't matter.
Thanks

Dartmouth Relays are usually the first or second weekend in January. Masters events use to be on Friday afternoon but last year they switched the masters to Saturday morning. This is a very good indoor meet - flat track - if that matters to you. Online information about the Dartmouth Relays tends to come online in the late fall. But look up past results to see what they have and how masters are doing at that meet.

Greater Boston Track Club runs a meet in mid January at Harvard University. It has a number of masters events but you can also participate in most of the open events as well. Check out the Greater Boston Track Club website.

Check out http://www.ontariomasters.ca There will soon be meets listed for January until March 2011. Most are at York University in Toronto, Ontario on a banked 200m track.

Slippery Rock, not far from Pittsburgh has two all comer meets scheduled Jan. 16th. and the 30th. I'm going to make my debut there. Started training last April, can't wait.

I have been seeing some meets pop up on individual college web sites. They will usually let you run open at these events right?

some college meets are "open" meets - meaning non-collegiate runners may enter, but you need to check it out to be sure.
In the Boston area there are some open college meets starting in December. In late December- early January there are 3 developmental indoor meets at Boston University. These are open to all including masters. Events range from 60 meters to the 3k but I am not sure about the throws and jumps. Check the USATFNE.ORG website - it is not updated for 2010-11 as yet but not much (aside from the correct date) changes from year to year.
Dartmouth Relays will be Jan 7,8,9 2011. Starting last year the masters meet was switched from Friday afternoon to Saturday morning and afternoon. The postcard I received in the mail yesterday says that the basic schedule is unchanged from last year with minor changes in the time schedule. Masters sign up at www.Lancertiming.com. Nothing is on that website about the meet yet - check in early December.

Most of them will be at Boston University. The USATFNE.Org website - under indoor track - will post the list fairly soon - not up yet - usually by the end of November -
the 3 developmental meets are at Boston University -
12/18/10 BU Mini Meet Track and Tennis Center 10:00 a.m. ET
12/26/10 BU Mini Meet Track and Tennis Center 10:00 a.m. ET
01/02/11 BU Mini Meet Track and Tennis Center 10:00 a.m. ET

there is usually a college/open meet at Harvard U indoor track the second weekend in December as well -

The so-called mini meets are open to the public - and are developmental - not college meets,
The BU indoor track is very good - quite banked - sprinters love it.
if interested and do not want to wait until the last minute - check out
http://www.goterriers.com/sports/m-trac ... sched.html

for the Harvard meet - look it up on the Harvard U website - do not have a url for that.

there are some others as well - look at USATFNE.ORG - for last year's indoor track events - only the specific date tends to change from year to year.
