The first annual Michael Slaughter Memorial Throws Meet will be held at Mesa Community College, Mesa, AZ, on Dec. 11, 2010. This event is open to High School, Open and Masters Athletes.

For those of you who didn't know him, Michael was a regular fixture in AZ Masters Track and Field. He was a true inspiration as he was a disabled athlete afflicted with Cerebral Palsy. He had a great attitude and never let his many obstacles prevent him from participating in the sport that he loved. Michael died this past year, so in his honor, we are holding the first annual Michael Slaughter Memorial Meet. 100% of all entry fees collected for this event will be donated to United Cerebral Palsy in Michael's honor. Steve Jacobs and Colin Post of MCC Track and Field, and Athletic Director John Mulhern of MCC have graciously donated the use of their facility for this event.

Please plan to participate and please spread the word to any and all who might be interested in joining us. Also, please pre-register so we can arrange the flights. If you are planning to throw only the Discus and/or Shot put and you are pre-registered, you may check in and have your implements inspected between 11:00 - 11:45 am. All same day entries must be completed by 9:30 am.

Do not hesitate to contact the meet organizer -Dave Bickel - if you have any questions:
David Bickel (602)571-3600, cbfdave@cox.net.
