| Post subject: | 2011 Shuttle Hurdle Relay |
The Shuttle Hurdle Relay will be included as a standard event for the first time (no longer just an exhibition event). ** summer 2011 USA Masters Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Ohio ** Elgible for medals and team points. Teams must comply with relay rules that passed at the Dec. 2010 USATF Convention. Shuttle Hurdle Relay teams will be in ten-year-age brackets (M30-39, M40-49, . . . , W70-79, etc.) Suggestion: Include alternates in case of injuries or schedule conflicts. Rules that were used at the Orono, Oshkosh, and Sacramento meets will be used again (for example - no running starts, no "zone", wait for incoming runner to pass their respective finish line before starting, hands may not touch the hurdles, etc.) To be elgible for a "record" - the race must include two teams. Each team has one "up" lane and one "back" lane [for safety reasons]. Hurdle heights and spacings will be the same as those used for that particular age-bracket. I will gladly assist, or hurdlers can form their own teams. Jeff jad-calif@cox.net |
