Perth launches 2015 World Masters Athletics Championships bid website

Western Australia has launched its bid for the 2015 World Masters Athletics Championships.

If successful the Championships will be held in the State’s capital, Perth.

Perth is one of the world’s great event locations with a fantastic climate, excellent venues and infrastructure.

The primary venue for Perth’s bid is the West Australian Athletics Stadium, which opened in 2009 and is one of Australia’s newest sporting facilities.

Away from the track, Perth can provide an experience like no other as a host destination. It’s beautiful parks, magnificent beaches, warm climate and welcoming people will ensure that competitors, spectators, media and sponsors will enjoy an unforgettable World Masters Athletics Championships.

Here's hoping Perth's 2015 bid is successful. I really enjoyed
the 2001 WMA in Brisbane and the 2009 WMG in Sydney and
would love to go back to Australia again.

Looking forward to my first trip to the west coast
of Australia in 2016. If they can put on as good a
Championship as Brisbane did in 2001 it'll be well
worth the 30 hour each way travel time!!!

What will the dates be for 2016? Will it be summer for the norther or southern hemisphere? Or sometime in between?
Edit: Two updates. Looks like the Brisbane games were held in July of 2001 so I suppose the Perth games might also go in their winter. The weather.com website indicates that averages for July in Perth are highs in the mid to low 60s and lows in the mid 40s. Good for the distance folks but not so good for the sprinter types. November weather shows highs in the mid seventies and lows in the fifties.
Thanks,
Jim

That's five years ahead, why bother now?

Brisbane and Perth may be in the same country, but they are a continent apart. Brisbane is in sub-tropical Queensland. Perth, decidedly, is not sub-tropical. My understanding is they plan for an October meet.

Yes, I think the website now says they are "proposing" October...
so I guess dates have yet to be confirmed/finalized/approved.
