M34 Javelin thrower here that took 6 years off until last year. Threw 3 meets (43.77, 42.54., 44.51) in 2006, and this will be my first meet of 2007.

I feel a bit better prepared this year as far as my training - but am very concerned about tomorrows meet. The weather has gone from 78 degrees yesterday to an expected high around 38 tomorrow (day of meet). Along with this, the wind has been very strong - and I'm way too unlucky for it to be anything but a crosswind at the meet.

I've thought about scratching but I hate missing a chance to compete and get a baseline mark for the year's start.

Anyways, I will post how I do if I go and appreciate any comments anyone might have - especially ideas for keeping injury free in the weather!

-Adam

The meet is: Defiance College (Ohio) Yellow Jacket Open, probably will be a very small meet - and now with the weather I could see it being VERY small.

Don't hesitate! Think positive and get that base mark to start the season.....no reason not to if you feel ready.

Good Luck......and get on the board.

Sorry to here about the meet. You can always have your own personal home meet. Treat it like a competition day. Do everything that you would normally do on a competition day. Give yourself 4 throws and get that base line that you are looking for. Good Luck.

Thats a great idea, and I would do it if I didn't have another meet in just a few short weeks. I guess I'll just be patient. I should be able to get in the Joe Banks Invitational at Ohio Northern University on 4/21/07. We'll see!
