At the request of some of members of the throwing community, the local organizers and the Games Committee have agreed to add the Weight Throw as an exhibition event at the USATF National Masters Outdoor Championships in August. No medals will be awarded and all competitors must be entered in at least one other event at the Championships. Entries will be an additional $10 for each participant. I still need to check to see if entries will be permitted in Orono or only prior to the meet, but if it is like the other exhibition event, the Shuttle Hurdles Relay, it will be open in Orono.

The Weight Throw exhibition event will take place after all other throwing events are completed on Thursday, the first day of the meet, when most throwers will be putting the shot.

Just found out -- entries will be only on the day of the event. The Games Committee doesn't have a time for it yet, but will try to pin one down once they put the final schedule together after entries are in for the championship events. That's when they will know when the shot will be finished and the WT can begin.
