There must be 1000 hotels on the 28 mile beach front near Riccioni (also thousands of pay-by-the-day beach chairs). There should be space even during a big event like the worlds championships. Check out the local websites. I found a hotel 100 yards from the discus circle in Misano that wasn't even listed.

Tom, Thanks for the info. Yes, as a back up, I was counting on there being some place available. (And those beach chairs don't sound too bad either.) But I wondered if anyone knew of any extra room to share, or a bed available for one person, that might cut theirs and my costs.
