I will be turning 50 in a month or so and have been working hard concerning my conditoning. I weigh less now than I have in 15 years. Anyway, I am a polevaulter from many years back and the seniors tour has interested me. Do many competitors show up at the meets? Do most meets include pole vaulting? Is it worth my time and expense?

Just go to local all-comer's meets. Pole vault usually starts a half hour before the running events.

When there are other masters, fine. Otherwise, have fun against the middle school kids, high school jumpers, and anybody else who shows up.

for the outdoor season, I suggest checking out Senior Games, www.nsga.com, which start at 50, and because neighboring states to Indiana allow "out of state" competitors- depending on your finances/time availability, you can at least get a few competitions specifically amongst your age group from that. And of course, talking to fellow masters competitors, you can "network" to find additional meets.

Great to have you back in the sport!
