I have noticed an unusually high number of premature deaths among power athletes in the past few years. I am aware of nine throwers and weight lifters who died in their 50s and 60s.

In the 1970s, I did a study on cardiac dimensions in world class throwers. One of the athletes who died recently was in the study.

I am seeking information on power athletes who died prematurely (before age 70). I want to do a series of case reports. I will not include any rumors of steroid use for any individual, but will address this problem in a general way.

I would appreciate the following information:
1, Cases of premature death in power athletes, including causes of death.
2. Training status throughout their lifetimes (i.e., were they masters?; were they physically active?; what types of training did they do later in life?, etc.)
3. Height and weight during the last few years of their lives.

Any help would be appreciated.

It's possible that power athletes are merely a subset of what we used to call big-boned people, or mesomorphs.

So the question might also be:

Do mesomorphs have shorter lives than endos and ectos (like me)?

These descriptions may have fallen out of favor, scientifically. But they may sparked some actuarial interest.
