I was searching online for a road race to run in oregon on June 6th when I came upon this challange mile in Eugene Oregon.
Here is the link for the race.
2009 Eugene Challenge Mile

This will be perfect for me since I start my track meets 3 weeks later.

I am trying to run one 5K per month right now to get use to racing with other competitors.

This is typically a well-attended race with a good level of competition. I've never actually entered myself but heve been considering doing so this year. This year there will be several different 1-mile races with a first-ever "Masters" division. Ought to be cool!

I ran this race last year (won my age group, I think I was 5th woman overall). It was great fun, and lots of good runners were there, helping with the race and calling out splits! I think Nicole Teter gave me my half mile split. How great they are adding a masters race! Wish I could go this year.

I ran the Eugene Challenge Mile last year. I'm sort of excited about the masters heat but wonder if it will take the fun out of it not being able ot outkick some of the young guns on the homestretch?

But it's an exciting event, I especially like the new course!

I used to deliver to the store at the 1/2 mile mark on the course.
It was at night, and I had to be careful leaving while driving my semi truck. It is very dark there at night and all the bicyclers riding around with no reflective gear or lights, and not obeying any traffic laws.

It looks like I might not be able to run it. That is the day my son is taking his SAT and I think I have to drive him there.
