Two days ago on an airfield in Brackley, England I competed in a very unique competition, a throwing dual, with the World Number #1 javelin thrower for age 16 - Matti Mortimore - 68.88m /2009 - 31 years my junior!!!!!!!

The "Battle of the Generations" throwing competition was arranged and filmed by Channel Four for a program that will air at the end of July in Britain. The competition was a throwing decathlon - throwing 10 different items in a head to head competition. The list of items thrown in this challenge were: a Cue stick, a boot (wellie) ,a fish, a golf ball, a 1976 Guinness Book of Records Pocket Book , a tooth pick, a paper airplane, a chocolate disc and a vinyl LP record ( Val Doonican ).

The result of the competition was, well overwhelmingly in my favor. Ha!

I will be submitting at least 2 of the performances for ratification to Guinness:
#1 Throwing a Vinyl Record a 112.10 meters/ 367.78ft
#2: Throwing the 1976 Guinness Book of Records Pocket Book 50.55m /165.86 ft.
As far as I know these are both "World Records" if anyone out there knows differently please let me know - Thanks.

I hope Guinness has a good sense of humor.
:)

How did you throw the LP? I'll bet if you threw Yoko Ono's album it would nosedive upon release and probably injure a spectator. Sounds like fun.
