Post subject:  birthdates

For my statistics on high jump ( http://home.xmsnet.nl/weiatletiek/RecPyrEng.html ) I need birthdates and so I have contacted many federations. Mostly I get fast replies, but there is one non-cooperative federation, USATF. I found most birthdates of US-athletes via the help of others but two are still missing: Sarah Overton (in her eighties now) and John Boesendorfer (in his nineties already). Both has competed in the National Matsers Games, but that organisation hasn't the politeness to reply to mail...
Who can help?

I would bet that privacy laws prevent US-based organizations from providing specific information like birthdates for individual athletes.

The US has birthdates in its privacy laws??

US privacy laws are very specific in some areas (credit card account numbers and social security numbers, for example), and rather vague in other areas like birthdates. Many organizations err on the safe side and share nothing.

Could someone find out if birthdates are mentioned in those laws? If not, I could ask USATF again.
Rather strange that birthdates should remain hidden in a sport where age is the key point.

Wikipedia learns that this is under that law:
"Public disclosure of private facts: the dissemination of truthful private information which a reasonable person would find objectionable"
And:
"Disclosure of private facts includes publishing or widespread dissemination of little-known, private facts that are non-newsworthy, not part of public records, public proceedings, not of public interest, and would be offensive to a reasonable person if made public."

This is not the case in birthdates in masters statistics. OK?!
