Post subject:  pentathlon scoring question

When I put my scores into the WMA age-grade converter on this site: http://www.howardgrubb.co.uk/athletics/wmalookup06.html, I get a totally different score than what given to me at the nationals. Why the difference?

I get exactly the same points as in the official results. Try my spreadsheet: http://home.xmsnet.nl/weiatletiek/MultEvent.html

Thanks Weia, worked wonderfully. I'll take the other site off my favorites list.

Hi Gary;

It was great to see you again in WI.

If you use an age grading program, remember that your times/marks are graded against age 50, not your actual age.

They always use the lowest age of the 5 year age group for scoring purposes.

In 2006 my performances age graded to 54 came in close to 3000 points, but based on the age 50 tables for my age group, my actual score was 2634.

Regards;
Ken
