i was surfing the web and noticed the rankings page and the records page. does anyone know how to get your name listed as a us athlete...have your name listed in the rankings....have the us records changed to reflect the new record? i saw several athletes listed with pictures as master athletes. i'm talking about the website http://www.mastersathletics.net/ as well as the usatf site.

You seem to be asking several questions. I will discuss what I know. The US rankings are here: http://www.mastersrankings.com/ You posted the link to the world rankings. On that world ranking site they also list the world records. The official WMA world record list is here: http://www.world-masters-athletics.org/records

If you, as a masters athlete, set a new American or World record, you must follow the USATF rules about submitting documentation of your record effort. After that, the USATF will process your submission and if they acknowledge it as a legitimate record, they will first post it as a pending record on the USATF records site. USATF finalizes all records at a meeting in December I believe and then the web pages are updated to remove the "pending" designation. If you achieved a world record at a USATF meet, you submit the same documentation to USATF. They will forward it on to the WMA.

Regarding the world rankings site and the photographs and videos of some of the ranked athletes, I believe they have originally been "harvested" off the web by the webmaster of the rankings site. (I copied this from the home page: Martin Gasselsberger - office@mastersathletics.net )

As far as getting a mark submitted to the US ranking pages, John Seto has done a wonderful job of making that an easy thing to achieve. Go to the web page ( http://www.mastersrankings.com/ ) and click on the "submit results" tab and follow the instructions. For the world ranking site, if Martin hasn't picked up your results from the web, then send him an email and he will likely be able to tell you what documentation is required for him to include your results on his site.

Have fun.
