Looking way ahead to the 2011 Worlds in Sacramento ... I was wondering how the relays were set up. Is only one team per country per age group allowed? Or can anyone form a 4x100 relay team? If only one team is allowed ... how are the team members selected? Thanks!

Yes, only one team per country per age group.

Every team operates under its own rules for relay selection.

Team USA rules have evolved over the years, but basically the team manager has final say on who runs where. The key is making your intentions known -- that you want to run a specific relay, since the team manager can't read minds or know everyone's travel schedule (get-away date).

Here's a recent iteration of selection rules for U.S. athletes:

Best of luck!
