I am a 52 year old man (53 in May) and I want to get into training for the mile. I just don't know where to begin. Can I get a comprehensive training program that I can understand anywhere online? I'd like to know how to train and also how to eat! I imagine diet and supplements are a big part of success. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, bp

Every athlete is different, so no online training program is guaranteed to be right for you, but here are some great resources:

Pete Magill's "Younger Legs for Older Runners" site:
http://petemagill.blogspot.com/

Ross Dunton's training site:
http://www.coachr.org/index.php

And don't overlook training experts in your own area.

Contact USATF's Georgia Association:
http://www.usatfga.org/

Or a club in Georgia:

Best of luck!
