How big and strong do i have to be to throw javelin? okay im a college freshmen we DONT have track so im transferrin next year to a school that does. alot of people think im really strong for my weight and im really interested n javelin for some reason so i want to try it.. im just afraid the coach is gunna say im to small im 5'8 160 nothing but muscle.

Learn good technique first. You can throw very far with your natural strength. As you get better, you can focus more on strength training. Do whole body strength exercises such as pull-ups, push-ups, rope climbing, unloaded squats, squats with rocks, overhead squats, overhead rock throws, sled sprinting, and plyometrics. Avoid bodybuilding exercises.

If you don't have a javelin coach, see Youtube for javelin instruction videos or purchase one of the many excellent javelin videos available on the Internet.
