Post subject: | Strength for javelin |
Learn good technique first. You can throw very far with your natural strength. As you get better, you can focus more on strength training. Do whole body strength exercises such as pull-ups, push-ups, rope climbing, unloaded squats, squats with rocks, overhead squats, overhead rock throws, sled sprinting, and plyometrics. Avoid bodybuilding exercises. If you don't have a javelin coach, see Youtube for javelin instruction videos or purchase one of the many excellent javelin videos available on the Internet. |
