Any tips for a discus thrower who wants to learn the spin style for shot putting?

There are some similarities and differences between the discus and rotational shot put throws. One big difference is that as you rotate out of the back of the ring, you do not want to gain torque as you do in the discus. Turn the body as a whole, keep shoulders level, keep the shot back, and whip the right leg to the center. Here is where you will create torque by keeping the shoulders level and to the side. Pull the left leg through and get into a good power position.
A with discus, start slow until you have to form down, then speed up the whole throw maintaining correct form.
