Post subject:  Entry Rules for European Masters Champs this Summer???HELP

Some team mates and I intend running a 4x100 relay at European Champs this summer in Hungary. There is some confusion with the entry of a relay. 3 members of the team intend to only travel for the relay, while one member is doing an individuall event, however we have been lead to believe that we have to all enter and compete in at least one individual event. Can this be the case, I have checked both WMA rules and also the entry booklet for the Europeans and fail to find any reference.
Anybody out there know ant different?

Regards

Tomas,

This is not quite a direct answer to your question, but you need to ask the Irish Masters management what their basis for selecting any relay team will be in Hungary. Relay teams are limited to one per age group per nation per relay event, so there will only ever be one Irish team in each age group's event. It is not the case that a bunch of pals can simply turn up and form their own relay team, unless their national association accepts the team as it's "national squad" for the event in question. I believe the situation is different in European Masters Games and World Masters Games.

Thanks Tom for the reply. Checked with the national federation and they are the ones causing confusion.
All sorted now, a team is entered by the team manager at the latest 3 days before the race day. We are the only quartet intending running ffrom Ireland.
We do not also have to enter for individual events.
Our team is on good shape.
2 electronic races so far. 45.11 & 45.12 all with shoddy changes overs to be worked on.
Looks like we can go in the low 44s with some practice
