A long-time training partner, W60-65, is tough. She trains long and hard and does a 26 minute 5K and a 54 minute 10K. Near the end of a race, or at the finish, she loses her stomach. This happens to many. This even happened when 3 of us ran a 5K timetrial. She would LOVE to solve this problem. Your advice will be passed along to her. Thanks a bunch. Smartty

just to be on the safe side she ought to get her heart checked.

Two ideas here from the powerlifting community where puking seems to be a badge of honor.

1. Try adding mineral suppliments on a daily basis. Magnesium, zinc, calcium, potassium. This seem to help many people, and can be a cheap solution, if it works.
2. For others, tossing cookies seems to be a learned response to physical stress. That is harder to break.

My 2 cents here as a thrower, not a runner.
