Any one know if you are allowed to break a World Age Group Record with a regular weighted implement- specifically the Men's Javelin WR50 which currently sits at 71.01m and was thrown with a 700g?
If I throw further then that when I am 50+ but use a 800g does it count as a New Age Group Record or is it a separate record all together?
I threw 71.24m last Saturday with a 800g - 4 and 1/2 months shy of my 50th birthday:

Can't believe I am wishing I was older!

I don't think it counts (but hope I am wrong). Appendix A states the implement measurements and an 800 is too long to count as a 700. On the other hand they give only a weight minimum for acceptance of a record. Find it out please!
