Are masters athletes allowed to wear a glove or use a tacky substance to help grip a javelin, shot or discus in competition? Or is it kinda like cheating? :)

Gloves are not permitted, nor is any tape above your wrist unless to cover an open wound. Any substance used on the hands or implement must not leave any residue on the implement, so therefore nothing "tacky" since it would leave a residue. The rules are very specific about both subjects, and so it isn't "kinda like cheating," it is cheating and would get you disqualified.

There exists aerosol tacky stuff, many javelin throwers use it. But I wonder why you should?

Thanks for clarifying. I have some neuropathy in my hands and was just wondering.
