Hi! I'm an italian master (W 50) and on Friday the 8th. I will be in Los Angeles and I will be staying for ten days.
Are there any masters living and trainig there? (I imagine there are plenty!!!)
It would be wonderful for me to meet some "colleague" and maybe train together. :D

I'm a sprinter: 100 and 200 m dash.

my e-mail address is

Ciao Cristina. L.A. is where I grew up but moved away after college. I'm sure you'll have fun and hopefully find someone to run with! 8)

Thank you, BMo. I like the sentence that you attached to your post: it's really true!

It's my first time in SoCal and the second in Usa and I'm very eager to see whatever there is to see.

How many times a week do you train?

Cristina - I run 3 to 4 times a week and lift weights 2 x a week. Right now I'm only doing one moderate-intensity speed workout a week. That will increase to 2 high-intensity speed workouts a week over the next couple of months. E lei?

Hi Linda and hi BMo, thank you for your answers.
I arrived on Saturday and since then I was so busy going around that I haven't trained... Besides, they told me that the track of Csun is not available to non students.

Anyway, you are lucky here in LA with such a wonderful weather!!!!!

BMo, I try to train 4/5 times a week and in winter lift weights 1/2 times a week, but sometimes I'm not so regular: it depends how busy I'm at my office.....

do you have indoor competitions in this period?

Hey Cristina - Hope your stay is going well despite not working out on the track. Good ol' CSUN huh? So, you are in "The Valley" of all places. I grew up 10 minutes from there in Chatsworth and my father was a politics professor at CSUN for 20 years. Qu'est-ce que Le monde est petit! (Sorry, my Italiano is limited). As for la competizione, , no indoor meets for me. I'll begin competing in May!

Ciao!

... my stay here. Yesterday I was in San Diego, visiting a relative who owns a restaurant, but the weather was terrible!

Unfortunately, on Sunday I will go back home....
I was at the Csun: amazing so very different from italian university (smaller and a bit sad!)
For me, too, no indoor season... Last year was not a lucky one: I got injured during the nationl championship in July and so the only good result was the bronze medal in Helsinki in the 60m.

I hope to do better this year!
