I did well when I was younger and never new what the implements were, never even heard about them. At 19 and 168 lbs I competed against much larger competitors winning the Shot Put event in the Regtl., Brigade and the Divisional Championship, in 1941, in England, while in Cdn. army. They too must have been novices.
I knew nothing about medals and gratefully accepted the silver one. They instinctively gave the gold to the 230 LB boxer !!!!!!

Up to my heart attack I weighed 180 lbs. Now at 168 with future competing in question. "Oh woe is me" !!!

Kettle balls and any heavy weights cause me to cringe !!!!

Correction:- Introduced to Shot two years previously at high school.
Competed there once.
