I have a few questions about indoor track: 1. What type shoes do you wear? 2. What is the track surface made of? 3. When running the 400, when are you able to cut to the inside lane? Thanks for any help, Tony |

I can answer two of these. I wear the same spikes I wear outdoors, with 1/4" spikes. One or two indoor tracks say no spikes or 1/8". I have some convertible shoes which I can use without spikes if necessary. In the 400 you cut in after the second turn. They put a row of little cones across the track sometimes, or sometimes there is a line painted across the track. I don't know what the various surfaces are. Some are very soft and banked (like BU) others are very hard rubber and flat (like Dartmouth). kim |

Thanks Kim, For some reason I thought indoor tracks would be hard surfaces and that I would not be able to wear spikes. Glad I ask. Thanks again, Tony |
