My wife, who runs sprints, used a chiro for deep massage that helped her run with less pain. About 10 years ago, she broke her hip while ice skating, had heavy duty surgery to insert pins and plates, and has been a walking metal-detector alarm ever since. She was able to get chiro care under her health plan. Seems to work.

My impression is that chiropractors are good for a narrow slice of health care. But don't use them for eveything they claim to treat. Stick with the bone and back alignment issues.

Sorry for the very late reply, but I am new here. I have a couple of different serious back issue and have found that chiropractic treatment has been a key component of pain management. As Ken pointed out, some chiropractors make somewhat extreme claims, and I would be careful of buying into that hook line and sinker.

For back or shoulder pain, I would certainly give it a try. It has worked well for me.
