Italian’s M40 triple jump WR is almost beyond Beamonesque: 56-2

Fabrizio Donato destroyed the indoor/outdoor WRs.

Two masters-age athletes competed in open championships Sunday — both taking second to men eight years younger. In Albuquerque, M50 Khalid Mulazim was beating Southwest Sprinters TC teammate Gabriel Fuzat at the 200, but lost to Gabriel in the 400 exhibition at the USA Indoor Nationals, 51.58 to 52.02. But Khalid’s mark beat Mike Sullivan’s listed American record of 52.44 from 2011 nationals, also at ABQ. It fell just short of the pending WR of 51.92 by Germany’s Roland Gröger. In Belgrade, M40 Fabrizio Donato triple-jumped a stunning 17.13 meters (56-2 1/2) at the European Championships to claim the longest hop-step-and-jump indoors and out over 40. The listed M40 outdoor WR is 16.58 (54-4 3/4) by Ray Kimble in 1993. The listed M40 indoor WR is Ray’s 16.08 (52-9 1/4). So Fabrizio beat the age-group indoor record by a monster 2 1/3 feet! On the age-graded tables, it’s worth 18.37 — 60-3 1/4. Incredible. In the masters women’s 1000 at ABQ, W45 Sonja Friend-Uhl ran by herself, leading from the start and finishing in 2:56.65 — 17 seconds ahead of W50 Lisa Valle, a world-record steepler. No official records are kept in the 1K, but Sonja’s mark could be the best for her group.

The result of Fabrizio Donato is fantastic for M40.
And inspiring for all masters athletes.
Just to add: On 6 September 2016 in Rovereto (Italy) he jumped 16.93 m (-0.3 m/s). He was M40 at that time (birth-date: 14 August 1976). Why is this result still not listed as a WR?

A video from his jump yesterday in Belgrade:

If 1 foot is 30.48 cm, then 1.05 m should be more than 3 1/3 feet, correct (improvement of the previous indoor WR)?

I believe that Fabrizio was second at the European Championships and in 2016, 17.13 ranked # 12 in the world. Great jumping!

Rankings show a 51.21 indoors in January for Kahlid. Age 50 WR.

There are olso the the 23,48 of Amber Campbell (05-06-1981) in the weight throw in the USA National at Albuquerque and the 8’58″20 of Nuria Fernandez (16-08-1976) in 3000 m (heat) in the European Champs at Beograd.
Cronologically these performances improve two previous results of the same athlets obtained in February (Amber Campbell at Winston Salem and Nuria Fernandez at Karlsruhe).
    N.B.
In the Indoor World Record Lists was indicated as record of 3000 m W40 the 9.01″24 of Maria Ivanova a Volgograd in 2005 .
But the Maria Ivanova that obtained this time in the Russian Indoor Champs 10 February 2005 has DOB 30 June 1983.
