Ontario’s Doug Smith shows the way in masters promotion

Nobody can touch Doug Smith of Canada for ways of promoting masters track. He has 15,000 photos on his ontariomasters.ca Web site, produces a newsy email newsletter and helps organize the group’s mini-meets. Now he has a YouTube video, about 7 minutes long, explaining Ontario masters track and what athletes can derive from membership.  Why doesn’t USATF Masters T&F emulate this? (But with better lighting.)  Thanks for the push, Doug! Get on the stick, Chairman Gary!

Better late than! I just saw/heard Doug’s video – and was surprised to see that there hadn’t been any comments.
I’ll add one – congratulations to Doug for the great job that he does with Ontario Masters; and thanks to him for giving a nod to us non-Ontario masters in the rest of Canada. He does write about us, too, and even takes our photos at meets. Doug took the best action shot that I saw of my racing efforts last season. I look forward to seeing him – and guest American masters – at the Canadian Masters T&F championships, July 17 – 19 in Kamloops, British Columbia
