Dennis Lewis beats the clock, enters nationals

Whew! Bruce McBarnette will have real competition in the M45 high jump after all. Dennis Lewis entered the Charlotte masters nationals today, ensuring the “Clash of the Titans” that I and others have hoped for. The Status of Entries for M45 show

that he’s listed with “Info needed,” which just means that he has to fax his birth certificate to Indy. No problem. He’s in. Thanks go to folks in Michigan and elsewhere who notified Dennis of tonight’s entry deadline.

    I hear some people are upset that we are allowing late and day of meet registration for the decathlon. *rolls eyes*

    Why isn’t the decathlon “dumbed down” to encourage more people to enter? If it were, say, 3 events, and 7 false starts were allowed in the sprints, instead of 3, I might consider entering….as it is, I’m sure not enough people enter because it’s too darn tough! (And how come there isn’t a smily emoticon or “text message” abbreviation for “*rolls eyes*?)
