Swiss masters site publishes age-group standards
A new Swiss masters track site has an interesting page — devoted to what it calls “Medaillenstandards fŸr Schweizermeisterschaften der Masters.” The layout of the page evokes the All-American Standards chart familiar to readers of National Masters News. Fortunately, the Swiss aren’t plagiarizing the numbers. Just the concept. Now I know modafinil online where I want to retire. The Swiss standards are a lot looser than the American. It’s also possible that these are, in fact, minimum marks needed to win medals in the Swiss championships. If that’s the case, they’re pioneering a concept some in the United States want.

Dear Ken
Yes, the standards are for the medals at the international Swiss championships.
You see, the championsghips are international, so you can also compete if you want…
By the way, the championships was last saturday in Bellinzona (south of Switzerland) and Monica Pellegrinelli, W40, run 1/100 faster then his own Worldrecord…
You can see the results also on our website http://www.swiss-masters-athletics.ch who is, a little bit, plagiarized, like our Swiss constitution, from the USA….
Ken, Ya do so much to keep the rest of us informed about all that’s happening in Master’s Track. Thanks once again for the heads up.
But look out, the sky is falling, the sky is falling. Those radical, wild an’ crazy Swiss have Medaillenstandards. Ya actually gotta make some generous minimum standards to even earn a medal at their National (International) Meet. Watch out; if not caught in the early stages this could spread to other venues unless those irresponsible Swiss are stopped in their Tracks (and/or Fields).

It’s great to see that someone is using a standard for earning medals in competitions…and I thought the Swiss were only good for cheese…their chocolate’s not bad either…They do make a pretty good watch…their winter Olympic team kind of kicks ass…Alright, they’re good at a lot of stuff…LOL…Which meet in the USA will be the first to implement this concept?…stay tuned…Milton Girouard
tennis is another sport gaining Swiss mention…..but back on the topic, the notion of “just showing up” and being awarded a medal because there were too few entrants does need some revisiting. Maybe “participant” ribbons rather than the medals awarded to event placers when the field is deeper than 4?
